THE SWAP
Two days before Micron's print, we model a restructure of our #1 position live, on air, against our own rules — and maybe execute it. More delta, less risk: today we find out if that sentence can actually be true.

MORE DELTA, LESS RISK?
The claim sounds like a free lunch. The audit is the lesson: we're going to price every leg, compare every scenario, and let the room watch the decision get made — not just the trade.
The Swap · The MU Complex Today · Sunday night marks
What we hold — and where it pinches
| Leg | Qty | Mark | Total notional | BPR | Extrinsic | Δ (sh-equiv) |
| Shares @ $961.52 avg | +10,000 | $1,085.02 | $10.85M | margin | — | +10,000 |
| C $1,500 · Dec 18 '26 · 82d | −100 | $28.50 | $15.0M | $0 · covered | $285,000 | −1,818 |
| C $1,800 · Jun 17 '27 | −100 | $72.53 | $18.0M | upper rung | $725,250 | −2,606 |
| C $2,500 · Sep 17 '27 (the crown) | −100 | $52.98 | $25.0M | upper rung | $529,750 | −1,834 |
| Net | | | $58M calls | | $1.54M | +3,742 · ~$4.1M delta-dollars |
Gimme: no puts — a miss only hits us once, roughly ±$490K per 13% move on a $19.4M book. Gotcha: the $1,500s sit 82 days out at +38% — a monster beat turns that rung into a live fire drill. And notice the quiet cost: the three call rungs eat 6,258 deltas of our own upside. We're long 10,000 shares and only feel 3,742 of them.
The Swap · The Model Trade · three orders
Four orders, priced off tonight's marks — chain pulled LIVE before anything executes
| Order | Qty | Est. price | Cash effect | Realized | Why |
| 1 · Close the $1,500s + $1,800s | 200 | ~$1,010,250 LIVE | (~$1.01M) | ~−$107K realized — the other $900K was kiln, not banked money | free the upside · retire the rung risk before the print does it for us |
| 2 · Sell half the shares | 5,000 | ~$1,085 LIVE | +$5.43M → escrow | +$617,500 banked | capture into strength · fund the promise · storm-doctrine cash |
| 3 · Close HALF the $2,500 crowns | 50 | ~$264,875 LIVE | (~$265K) | ~−$51K realized | delete the naked tail for ~2% of the promise — and re-sell them richer if MU finds footing at $1,300–1,500 |
| 4 · Sell $850 puts · Sep 17 '27 | 100 | ~$100/sh LIVE | +~$1.0M credit | — | re-collect the rent — on the side that agrees with the thesis |
Watch what order 3 does to order 1: we give back ~$1M of call-side rent and immediately re-collect ~$1M of put-side rent. Same theta, opposite allegiance — the rent stops fighting our own thesis. That's the Tom lesson from Episode 7, executed at family-office scale: on a long thesis, cash flow comes from the put side.
The Swap · The Audit
Before and after, one table
| Today | After the Swap | Read |
| Structure | 10,000 sh + 3 rungs | 5,000 sh + 100 × $850P + 50 × $2,500C · both Sep '27 | simpler — and every call fully share-covered |
| Net delta | +3,742 | ≈ +6,300 | 68% MORE long — the ceilings we closed were eating our own upside |
| Nearest call strike | +38% · 82d | +130% · 355d | the print can't reach anything |
| Put-side promise | $0 | $8.5M · 22% cushion · ~64% escrow-secured | accumulation label — see next slide |
| Uncovered call exposure | ~$43M beyond the shares | $0 — 50 calls vs 5,000 shares, fully covered | the tail is gone |
| Cash banked / raised | — | ~+$459K net realized · +$5.4M escrowed | Collect 2 Capture, into strength |
| Rent working | $1.54M · all call-side | ~$1.26M · majority put-side | slightly smaller paycheck, right employer, no tail |
The zones: on a beat, this book out-earns the old one (no rung collapse — at +30% the old net delta sinks toward +2,200 while this holds ~+4,700). In chop, ~$1.5M of extrinsic decays our way. On a miss, half the shares aren't there to bleed, the credit cushions, and $5.4M of powder shops the dip. And the zone we're quietly HOPING for: a drawdown. Long enough to win if it runs, funded to feast if it falls — the escrow shops the $800–900 zone by choice, before the puts ever have to hit. The gift scenario, pre-funded.
The Swap · The Honest Flags · decided out loud, before the click
Four things this trade must say on air
1
Double drawdown returns — wearing a different label. We killed the MU puts two weeks ago; this revives shares + puts on one name. The difference: the old $500s wore DISTANCE; the $850s wear ACCUMULATION — assignment brings 10,000 shares at ~$750 effective on our #1 seat, with the escrow standing by. The all-in question, answered out loud: are we happy owning 15,000 MU in the world where $850 breaks? If yes, the label holds. If we hesitate — resize before we click.
2
The gift we're actually hoping for is the drawdown — say that plainly. This book is positioned long, but a substantial pullback to $800–900 is the win condition: the $5.4M escrow reaccumulates the shares at a discount by choice, without waiting for the $850s to hit. The puts are the paid floor BELOW the shopping district. If chat asks "are you bullish or bearish?" the answer is: we're structured to be happy either way — that's the whole point.
3
Timing the put sale against Wednesday. Sell all 100 before the print and you harvest the juiced fear premium — but wear the binary. Sell after and you pay for certainty with a thinner credit. The flexibility play: split it — 50 pre-print, 50 post-print. Monetize the crush AND keep an informed bullet.
4
The bag takes a hit we've already blessed. MU's Northstar line halves — roughly $12.5M off the 2032 targets, temporarily — same sentence as SPCX and MSTR: the bag shrinks on purpose when we bank a win, and the refill is already paid for at $750 effective.
The Swap · Graded Against Our Own Doctrine
Every house rule, checked
| Rule | Verdict | Why |
| Storm doctrine — preserve net liq, powder for the chop | PASS | +$617K banked · $5.4M escrowed · print exposure smoothed |
| Oxygen — premiums come and go, BPR is life support | PASS | rung buybacks free margin; nothing near-dated remains |
| Put-side cash flow on a long thesis | PASS | ~$1M of rent switches to the side that roots for us |
| All-in price — every promise sized to a stated "all" | SAY IT | 15,000 shares in the $850-breaks world — state it before the click |
| No naked promises unnamed | PASS | zero naked calls after the trade — the $12.5M tail deleted for a ~$265K buyback (~2% of the promise) |
| Ripper Protocol readiness | PASS | the endangered $1,500 rung leaves at $28.50 instead of $70 after a beat |
| Flexibility — the name of the game | PASS | every remaining lever rolls, walks, or waits on our schedule |
Six passes, one say-it-out-loud, zero fails. That's what a well-designed restructure looks like on this show: not a trade with no risks — a trade whose every risk has been named, priced, and chosen before the order ticket opens.
The Swap · The Takeaway for Your Own Book
Three portable lessons
1 · Audit your rungs
Count the deltas they eat
we were long 10,000 shares and feeling 3,742 — sometimes the biggest upside unlock is buying back your own ceilings
2 · Kiln ≠ banked
$1.01M "given back" was ~$107K real
price a buyback by realized cost, not by the sticker — most of the sticker was rent you hadn't captured yet
3 · Rent has an allegiance
Put it on your side
call rent fights a long thesis; put rent agrees with it — same theta, different loyalty
And the meta-lesson the room is really here for: we modeled this in public, against our own rules, before touching the order ticket. The trade might execute today. It might not. Either outcome is the discipline working.
