Road to $1 Million — Mr & Mrs Wheel Deal
Road to a Million · Mr & Mrs Wheel Deal · Episode 01

THE BUSINESS PLAN

A brand-new joint account. A hundred dollars on day one. One destination: $1,000,000 by 2032. Before we sell a single put, we're doing what every real business does first — writing the plan. Because a portfolio isn't a pile of trades. It's a business. Today, you watch us incorporate.

01 · The Teaching · Why portfolios fail

Most accounts aren't businesses. They're hobbies with losses.

No deadline
A DREAM
“get rich someday” is not a goal — a goal is just a dream without a time limit until you give it one
No funding plan
A WISH
businesses have capital plans; hobbies have whatever's left over at the end of the month
No written rules
A MOOD
if the strategy lives in your head, the strategy changes with your feelings
01 · The Mission

“A goal is just a dream without a time limit.”

The goal
$1,000,000
net liq in the joint account
The time limit
2032
the same deadline as the family office's $100M North Star — two roads, one clock
The method
COLLECT 2 CAPTURE
same doctrine as the big book — ten thousand times smaller, zero excuses
02 · The Capitalization

Seed capital: the honest ledger

JP Morgan transfer~$75,000the initial pump — incoming
Additional capital~$25,000being rounded up

02 · The Funding Engine

$2,500 a month, every month, no debates

Monthly deposit
$2,500
from personal cash flow — payroll for the business, automated so it's never a decision
Total contributed by 2032
~$330K

The split
1/3 : 2/3
we fund a third of the million. The business earns the other two-thirds.

03 · The Strategy · The covered strangle

One structure, three paychecks

The put side
GET PAID TO BUY
sell puts at prices we'd celebrate owning — assignment isn't a loss, it's the plan working. This builds the bag
The shares
THE LOAF
the position we're building on 2–3 names we strongly believe in. Premiums are bread crumbs — capital appreciation is the ENTIRE LOAF
The call side
GET PAID TO WAIT
sell calls above our shares at prices we'd happily deliver — rent on the upside while the bag grows
04 · The Rules of the Business · Written down, out loud, in advance

The operating agreement

1

Cover, never over

Never more short calls than shares. Your share count is your call ceiling — no exceptions at any account size.

2

Every strike is a promise

Put strikes = prices we'd celebrate buying. Call strikes = prices we'd happily sell. If we wouldn't toast the fill, we don't sell the contract.

3

Guard the oxygen

Buying power is the business's air supply. Size so the worst day changes nothing — assignment on everything at once should be an event we planned, not a crisis.

4

Changes get said out loud

Two partners, one book. No trade happens that both partners haven't heard the objective for — and rule changes happen on the record, never by drift.

04 · Governance · The monthly board meeting

Two partners. One scoreboard. Every month.

KPI 1
NET LIQ
vs the mile-marker table — ahead or behind, no stories
KPI 2
BP IN USE
the oxygen gauge — with a hard ceiling we set in calm weather
KPI 3
COLLECTED VS CAPTURED
the kiln report — premium that died worthless vs premium still at risk
KPI 4
BASIS PROGRESS
adjusted cost basis on every holding — the march toward zero

OPEN FOR BUSINESS

The plan is written. The deadline is set. The tank is filling. From here, every episode is an earnings report — same doctrine as the $100M road, ten thousand times smaller, and every trade one you can actually make. A hundred dollars today. A million by 2032. Collect 2 Capture. Let's go to work.
Educational content only, not financial advice. This is our family's own real account and real plan; targets are goals, not projections or promises — a ~25% annual return is an ambitious objective that may not be achieved, and losses, including of deposited capital, are possible. Figures shown are our own; milestone values assume the stated seed, deposits, and growth rate for illustration. Options involve substantial risk, including assignment and total loss of premium. Do your own research and consult your own advisors.
